MULTI MEDIA CONVERSIONS

Why should I transfer my video tapes to DVD?
Video tapes deteriorate over time. They are affected by temperature changes, dirt & dust, rough handling, jamming inside tape player decks and breakage. Also many video tape players/decks are no longer being manufactured and spare parts are harder to find. DVD Video is durable, lightweight, compact, easy to store and easy to copy.

I have old tapes & movies which I want copied to DVD. I don’t know what’s on them. Where do I start?
Sort and label your tapes & film rolls as best you can. Where possible you should include some dates, that will help us sort & transfer your movies in date order. Contact me before dropping off at one of our locations.

How do you charge for copying video tapes?

We charge according to the amount of video on each tape. Just because you have a 120 min tape does not mean it’s full. If it only has 30 minutes of video then that’s all you’ll be charged for.

I have no way to view and sort my 8 mm movies. Can you help?

Yes I will loan you a portable 8 mm viewer. It’s simple to use and you can view and log all your movies in your own time.

Where is your studio?

The bulk of the work is done from my home-studio in East Cobb and I am always available by phone or email. For your convenience we have two drop-off & pick-up locations. The “April Mi” shop in Roswell and a UPS Store in Roswell. I will do the work and email you a PayPal invoice. Immediately following payment your completed job will be available for pickup.

Can a mix of film, prints, slides or video be included on the same DVD?
Yes. Additional fees would apply, based on the complexity of requirement.

What type of DVD's do you use?
We use DVD-R media which can be played on most DVD players purchased after 2001.

Some of our videos & photos are "personal". Who gets to see my images when you do conversions, and do you keep copies?
Typically for basic conversions we check the start and the end of each tape and asses video & audio settings. During transfers we periodically spot-check picture and sound. That's it. For more complex conversions which require editing etc, then obviously I will need to work with all the material. I do the editing myself and we do not keep copies of any media unless specifically requested to do so.

I have old electronic (video/movie/audio) equipment we don’t use anymore. What’s the best way to dispose of it?

After many questions like this we now offer “Recycling”. I will review the condition and marketability of your equipment and give you an assessment of the options. These could range from “no value” to an estimated $ value based on the current market. In some cases I may offer to purchase items OR I can sell items on your behalf OR if there is no value, I will forward equipment to a local electronics recycling company.

How long does it take to convert my videos to DVD?
Basic conversions and transfers usually take 2 -5 business days, depending on quantity.

Do you offer discounts?
Yes 10% discount is offered on orders of 10 or more same units. For example if you have ten of the same size tapes to be transferred then you will only pay for nine.

What are your terms and what methods of payment do you accept?

Our preferred method is online payment via PayPal where you can safely use any major credit card.

Also cash on delivery. Sorry no checks.

Can you pick-up and/or deliver?
Within the vicinity of Marietta, Roswell, Alpharetta. $15.00 per trip.
